Brindle Line

Here are some pictures I scanned from "Benjamin William Brindle and His Descendants" by Hazel Whitehead Vorkink. I will be scanning more. I'd also like to include this poem found in the same book by William Vorkink:

Forge The Chains

O God, our Father, unto thee
Our hearts we lift in praise;
To t hank Thee for redemption free
And for thy boundless grace
Which to all men, both "great and small",
Born since creation's dawn,
Who've proved their worth in mortal life,
Brings exaltation's crown.

When Thy dear Son, on that bleak hill,
Surrendered mortal breath
To satisfy a broken law,
And strike the bonds of death,
His spirit sought the realm of rest
Of which the prophet told,
And to the legions of the dead
The gospel did unfold.

Now, in the fullness of the times,
As earth's redemption nears,
And great Elijah Thou didst send
To bridge the span of years --
To turn the children's hearts, so they
Might seek their parent's weal --
We pray thee, Lord, Thy spirit send
To spur our flagging zeal.

Grant we may read the records clear,
Unlock the mysteries
Of races gone and tongues long dead --
To write their histories.
In temples sacred unto Thee
As saviors we may strive
To forge the chair, unbroken, strong,
That threads eternal life.
